TIPTON, IOWA

Lindy: 3-4 year old bone-mouth Shar-Pei. She was picked up as a stray near a boarding school in West Branch, Iowa, in May of 2007. She has been living in a no-kill shelter for nearly a year. Lindy weighs around 65# and has already been spayed. She walks nicely on-leash. She likes to keep her kennel very neatly organized: given a folded blanket, she will keep it neatly folded until it is replaced, and she's picked out a particular corner of her kennel to use exclusively for business. Lindy is a very affectionate and responsive dog who gives kisses and will even "hug." She is slightly aloof upon meeting strangers but warms up very quickly, and she has both male and female (human) friends. She has several friends who are children, though she's most comfortable with young people who are taller than eye-level. She had one very good dog friend, but he's been adopted. She has demonstrated retaliatory barking towards female dogs who bark at her first, and she should probably be placed only with an agreeable male dog or as an only dog. She's suspected to be cat aggressive, so no cats. We would like to see her adopted or moved into rescue/foster home; she's tolerated shelter life much longer than most dogs can stand.

Please contact rescue volunteer Friends of the Animals or call 563-886-2361 (alternate contact: Tawni at 319-643-7435) for more details.

ROCKWELL CITY, IOWA

Janice: 4 year old female mix. She was seized for neglect and is currently in the Calhoun County Canine Shelter. She will be ready for adoption as soon as she's spayed. She's a very nice dog, looks very pei, but is a mix i'm sure.

Please contact rescue volunteer Shelly Maguire or call 712-297-8323 for more details.
